This week’s blog post is taken from Louise Hay’s website Healyourlife.com. Your happiness and your success in life is determined by the thoughts you hold in your subconscious mind. Positive affirmations are powerful statements that are used to build a positive internal dialog. By consistently repeating positive affirmations to yourself, you create positive subconscious thoughts. The things we think about continuously will materialize in time. Therefore, it is important to always think positive thoughts.
Using positive affirmations has been very powerful for myself and my clients. I know for many, this is hard to do at first, but keep practicing and overtime you will see the power in positive thought. Below Louise Hay gives some great tips on how to stop the negative self talk and reprogram your subconscious mind. Plus I added a link to a website where you can click on a card and get a free affirmation.

GO AHEAD AND TRY IT!!
Hello Dear Ones,
I often ask people to look into their own eyes and say something positive about themselves every time they pass a mirror. These positive statements are affirmations. Are you willing to change your self-talk into positive affirmations?
A lot of what we normally say and think is quite negative and doesn’t create good experiences for us. Do you notice the way that lonely, unhappy, poor, sick people talk. What words do they use? What have they accepted as the truth for themselves?
We have to retrain our thinking and speaking into positive patterns if we want to change our lives.
A positive affirmation opens the door. It’s a beginning point on the path to change. In essence, you are saying to your subconscious mind, “I am taking responsibility. I am aware that there is something I can do to change.” When you pay attention to your thoughts, you can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences you do not want in your life.
Do you always begin a conversation with a complaint? Do you realize that every complaint is an affirmation of something you think you don’t want in your life? Every time you get angry, you’re affirming that you want more anger in your life. Every time you feel like a victim, you’re affirming that you want to continue to feel like a victim. If you feel that Life isn’t giving you what you want in your world, then it’s certain that you will never have the goodies that Life gives to others.
You’re not a bad person for thinking the way you do. You’ve just never learned how to think and talk. People throughout the world are just now beginning to learn that your thoughts create your experiences. Where do you start?
Positive affirmations are solutions that will replace whatever problem you might have. By repeating these affirmations over and over, you’ll be planting new seeds in the fertile soil of your subconscious mind, and they’ll become true for you.
Affirm:
I can feel good about myself!
I can make positive changes in my life!
I can ______ (insert whatever it is you want)
I can do it!
Twice a day, stand in front of a mirror and repeat these positive affirmation ten times. (If you have something more specific you want to work on, you can write your own.) If doubts or fears or negative thoughts come up, just recognize them for what they are—old limiting beliefs that want to stay around. Say to them gently: Out, I no longer need you. And then repeat your positive affirmations again.
That which we constantly affirm becomes true for us.
You can do it!
Louise.
